Southern Roots

Ancestors from the Courts of Kings to the American Presidency !

     Our Family - Where it all began ........

     This site is dedicated to our Mother, Carmen L. Bradley Nichols, who worked so hard to trace our Heritage.......... (1944-1984)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      It's difficult to imagine that some of our ancestors were Scottish Kings and Queens, Court Musicians, English Earls and Knights, Lords and Ladies, and Colonial Plantation owners.....
      Over the passage of time, fortunes rose and fell, some died penniless, while others remade the fortunes that were lost. Some sold themselves as Indentured Servants in order to arrive on the shores of America.
       This is a continuing story of the families that are our Ancestors.
I would especially like to thank my brother, Greg, for the many hours  spent looking around old cemeteries and helping me to document the ancestors we found. ( Thanks for all the driving you did also ! )
