       District, South Carolina.

General Notes: George and Elizabeth's family lived between Bush River and Big
Creek of Saluda River near the location of St. Luke's Church.

Research Notes: 1800 - Census - George Nichols was over 45 years old.

  George married Elizabeth UNKNOWN [428] [MRIN: 156]. Elizabeth was born about
      1757, died about Oct 1804 in Newberry District, South Carolina about age
      47, and was buried in Newberry District, South Carolina.

     Children from this marriage were:

                   South Carolina, died about 1855 in Perry Co., Alabama about
                   age 70, and was buried in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery,
                   Perry Co., Alabama.

                   Co., South Carolina and died in 1848 in Williamson Co.,
                   Tennessee about age 61.

                          Second Generation (Children)

2.  William NICHOLS [429] was born about 1785 in Newberry District, South
       Carolina, died about 1855 in Perry Co., Alabama about age 70, and was
       buried in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery, Perry Co., Alabama.

General Notes: In 1817, Wm. Nichols bought land from his uncle, Robert Maffit,
Sr. This land has been previously owned by Mattias Hair.

In 1819, Wm. Nichols contributed land for a Baptist Church from this tract. As
a neighborhood church, this seems to have been replaced after 1828 by St.
Luke's Lutheran Church.

About 1830, the family of Wm. Nichols moved to Perry County, Alabama, settling
near the town of Sprott. They are buried in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery, Perry
County, Alabama.

  William married Barbara HAIR [435] [MRIN: 158], daughter of Matthias HAIR
      [436] and Fannie RIKARD [437]. Barbara was born about 1788, died after
      1865 in Perry Co., Alabama, and was buried in Mt. Pleasant Church
      Cemetery, Perry Co., Alabama.

     Children from this marriage were:

                   District, South Carolina, died from 1856 to 1858 in Perry
                   Co., Alabama at age 46, and was buried in Mt. Pleasant
                   Church Cemetery, Perry Co., Alabama.
  9 F    ii. Elizabeth "Betsy" NICHOLS [460] was born in 1812 in Newberry
                   District, South Carolina and died on an unknown date in Bibb
                   County, Alabama.

       Elizabeth married John M. BROWN [461] [MRIN: 172] on 4 Jun 1834.
  + 10 M   iii. John K. NICHOLS [462] was born in 1815 in Newberry District,
                   South Carolina and died in Apr 1884 in Alabama at age 69.
  + 11 M    iv. Matthias Hair NICHOLS [471] was born in 1818 in Newberry
                   District, South Carolina and died in Oct 1886 in Alabama at
                   age 68.
  + 12 M     v. Joseph Land NICHOLS [501] was born on 9 Jun 1820 in Newberry
                   District, South Carolina and died on 29 Oct 1896 at age 76.
  + 13 F    vi. Sarah "Sally" NICHOLS [525] was born about 1822, died about
                   1855 about age 33, and was buried in Mt. Pleasant Church
                   Cemetery, Perry Co., Alabama.
  + 14 M   vii. William Mark NICHOLS [542] was born on 1 Jul 1826 in Newberry
                   District, South Carolina and died on 30 Aug 1896 in Coleman
                   Co., Texas at age 70.
  + 15 M  viii. Peter Washington NICHOLS [553] was born on 30 Aug 1830 and died
                   on 1 Jun 1894 at age 63.

3.  Allen NICHOLS [430] was born about 1787 in Prosperity, Newberry Co., South
       Carolina and died in 1848 in Williamson Co., Tennessee about age 61.

General Notes: Allen Nichols moved his family from Newberry District, South
Carolina, about 1815, to Williamson County Tennessee, settling on the west side
of the town of Franklin. Allen Made his will 3 May 1848, proven July 1848,
namiming his wife and children and making his wife and son, William Nichols,
executors of the will. The widow did not remarry and in later life lived with
her oldest daughter's family. In her will, she mentions her three daughters.
All the sons of Allen Nichols left Williamson County, Tennessee, several sons
and the youngest daughter moved to Texas.  ( Information from John Nichols,

  Allen married Eve "Evy" UNKNOWN [567] [MRIN: 221]. Eve was born about 1795 in
      South Carolina and died about 1887 in Williamson Co., Tennessee about age
      92.

     Children from this marriage were:

                   died on 4 Jul 1861 at age 50.
  + 17 F    ii. Sarah NICHOLS [569] was born about 1814 in South Carolina and
                   died after 1871.

                   died before 1860 in Texas.
  + 19 M    iv. William NICHOLS [571] was born in 1818, died on 26 Jun 1901 in
                   White Co., Arkansas at age 83, and was buried in Smyrna
                   Cemetery, White Co., Arkansas.
  + 20 M     v. George W. NICHOLS [572] was born in 1821, died on an unknown
                   date in Texas, and was buried in Brownsboro Cemetery,
                   Kendall Co., Texas.
  21 M    vi. John NICHOLS [573] was born about 1823 and died on an unknown
                   date.
  + 22 M   vii. Joseph H. NICHOLS [574] was born about 1825 and died between
                   1860 and 1865 in Perry Co., Tennessee.
  23 M  viii. Allen F. NICHOLS [575] was born about 1828 and died on an unknown
                   date.

                   unknown date in Texas.

5.  Rachel NICHOLS [432] was born about 1792 in Prosperity, Newberry Co., South
       Carolina and died in 1826 in Prosperity, Newberry Co., South Carolina
       about age 34.

  Rachel married John BICKLEY [949] [MRIN: 343], son of Thomas BICKLEY [950]
      and Ann OAKS [951], about 1815 in South Carolina. John was born about
      1780 in South Carolina and died in 1826 in Beaverdam Creek, South
      Carolina about age 46.

     Children from this marriage were:

                   Co., South Carolina and died on an unknown date.
